Charlie

I attempted the hanging of the blinds on the french door yesterday. It proved to be something I should have left undone. Although I do know how to do it now. I will be fixing the door and then starting over on that one. It was extremely hot today so the load of mulch I picked up from The Villager is still in the back of the truck. I kept waiting for it to cool off some, like this evening, but now I'm just not going to do it this evening at all. For those of you that have not have the pleasure of meeting Charlie, you don't know what you are missing. Lisa would say that, too, but in a different tone of voice than I would. I have taken a few shots of him that show his idea of a great day.

Slowly

I am making slow progress with things in the house. I have been rather lazy since that "Sunday is a day of rest excuse". It seems to have carried over to all week. I am going through stuff, sorting, keeping some, getting rid of stuff, some stuff I'm not really sure what to do with. I still haven't hung up my blinds for the french door in my bedroom, either. It involves drilling, so I wasn't all that confident in tackling it myself. I guess procrastinating isn't helping. I do have a chair for my room now. I really like it. I also got the bookcase set up. Marianne arranged the stuff on the shelves. I put the little horses on the top, mostly because I didn't know where else to put them. Charlie is a big help too. He chewed on the corner of my brand new bed. I wanted to kill him and cry, but as you can see, he is still here. I have since made repairs to the new bed, a little wood filler, some stain, good as new....not really. As you can see, as we make progress in some rooms, the rest gets worse. And what in the world am I going to do with that cedar chest which is now back out in the living room because it doesn't really fit in my room either now?? Charlie is happy, so long as he has a stuffed animal to take along or carry around. Life is good.

Not Much

Well, I didn't really make much progress on my bedroom today. But I did get a lamp for the nightstand. I guess that should count for something. Marianne and I ran some errands in town and then came back home. I'm afraid Charlie picked up a bad habit from the girls. He seems to think that at feeding time, one should jump up and down and bark as the food is prepared in the bowl....not so cute when done by a 54 pound clumsy puppy. We got thunder today, that wasn't very helpful...no rain. My computer is behaving very badly. It keeps shutting off for no reason...I'm guessing that means it is trying to crash on me. It has been doing that for a month or so, but seems to be getting worse....not good.

Wow I did it

I liked Jim's blog so much that I decided to create on myself, well, Marianne helped. I am slowly getting my bedroom done; new furniture, new paint -Baby Bee Yellow...not Baby Pee Yellow, new blinds. I even got the carpet cleaned and washed the windows, very drastic. Charlie likes his new bed in there too. I am looking for a chair and possibly a 22" or 26" tv for in the bedroom. I am slowly going through all the junk that seems to accumulate, and getting rid of stuff. Marianne and I went riding in the evening yesterday when it was 'cooler' out. That was fun.It has rained all around us. The Ingles parking lot was full of puddles, but not a drop of rain here. The pastures (and the yard) are in real bad shape. Today I managed to get the blinds hung up in the nook. It has already made a big difference on the heat that comes in that room from the afternoon sun. Other than that and going to church this morning, I have been pretty lazy today. I'm using the "Sunday is a day of rest" excuse.
