Jekyll Island Getaway

We were all able to take off and go to Jekyll Island for the weekend. Hooray! It was a great escape. Marianne kept saying that she didn't remember going to Jekyll Island, then we figured out that she was still in diapers last time we were there, so it was a good excuse to go again.

We brought Ashley and the dogs along with us. We stayed at the Oceanside Inn. They are amazing because they really are pet friendly...any size dog is welcome...none of those 10 pound limits and such.

It was Charlie's 1st beach trip. He LOVED it!!!!
(Gracie did not share in his excitement for the beach). Charlie chased the waves, swam, dove into the waves and even swam out to ride some of the waves back in to shore....and then did it over again....until I had to drag him out of the water.

Mickie, Tim, and Logan arrived a couple of hours behind us.

While at Jekyll Island, we spent a few hours at the Sea Turtle Center. It was really cool! They have educational stuff about the Sea Turtles and they also have a Sea Turtle Hospital and Rehabilitation Center.
Amy is the smaller turtle. She is in the education part of the center. Erika is in the rehabilitation center. Hopefully, she will get to go back out into the ocean later.

Since we arrived early on Friday and the hotel wasn't full, they upgraded mine and Marianne, and Ashley's room to a suite for the same price....very cool! So we had lots of room for everyone to visit together.
Mickie, Tim, and Logan had their own room.

I took the dogs for a walk on the beach before sunrise on Saturday. Charlie wanted to know why I was torturing him and not letting him go swimming. Gracie was wanting to know why I was punishing her by putting her down in this awful sand for some ridiculous picture. It was beautiful!
Mickie and Tim got to stay until Monday, but we had to come home on Sunday. It was a GREAT!!

A Little of Everything

Earlier in the week it was Tim's 30th birthday, so we all went to Mickie and Tim's to celebrate
the occasion. We all had a good time.

For those of you that have not yet met Alesia...this is Alesia. Some of you also might not know that she and Barry are now engaged.

A cell phone photo of Uncle Barry cuddling with his nephew Logan.

Mickie and Tim are doing well and following a strict budget, so I made Tim a "Thor" birthday cake. Apparently Thor is a super hero of some sort. I don't know, but it was well received.

Last Saturday, 9/11, was Logan's 1/3 birthday, so we went and spent the day there with Mickie and Logan. Barry was able to spend the day also, so we really had a great time together. Since Logan is still growing like a weed, right out of his clothes in fact, we made a trip to the mall and shopped for some baby clothes on the Sears clearance rack. We got some fantastic bargains!
He is over 18 pounds now, at 4 months, and is wearing 9 months and 9 - 12 month clothes.

Logan is a very happy baby and hardly ever cries. He is trying to talk and seems to be saying "hi" to people. Very Cute!! Did I mention how cute my grandson is....well, he is really cute!!

We had lots of fun together. I am trying to teach him to shriek and holler, so he can do these things while running through the house later on.

Auntie Marianne and Logan get along very nicely. But why not, they are both such great people!

This picture is a few weeks old, but I wanted to share it anyway. Logan thought that Marianne's little bunny, Lilly was very cool. He petted Lilly,b ut did not snatch her hare out....haha.

Another older picture....from August....the harvest of the sweet potatoes from the garden. I thougth I would be smart and put them in a copier paper box....but as you can see, this did not work. I had to go get the wheel barrow.

Also from August...Logan got to spend the night with us!! We had a great time together. Mickie and Tim had a date night and got to sleep all night!! This was taken on our way to church. It was the first time I got to take Logan to church with me and show him off. I am very proud of him...did I mention that?
